Out in the Community
We understand not everyone has the resources to come to our office to access our services, so we go to them. EFA has its own recreational vehicle that has been converted into a mobile testing unit, fully equipped with two confidential testing rooms. We go into the community to spread the word about safe sex practices, provide education on HIV prevention, and offer testing for HIV and other STD's. We have long-standing collaborations with churches, clinics, shelters, and other community spaces. Our mobile outreach program also reaches out to individuals who might not otherwise think about protecting themselves from HIV.
We're hitting the streets 2-3 times a week, reaching people throughout our community. During special events and certain times throughout the year, we collaborate with other St. Louis organizations to provide testing and education on site.
We Can Help
If you're organizing an event, health fair, or presentation, there are three ways EFA can help:
We may be able to provide free, confidential HIV testing on site. Please contact David Hervey, our Mobile Outreach Coordinator, to see about testing at your event. Or call 314-333-6663 if you'd like to arrange something.
|2.||Speakers||A representative from our organization may be available to speak at your event, share basic information about HIV, provide a presentation, or be available for questions at a health fair. Please contact our Director of Engagement & Advocacy, Dale Wrigley at 314-333-6666.|
|3.||Supplies||Simply looking for free information and supplies to pass along to your participants? Condoms, pamphlets, and other literature? If so, please contact Matt Swango at 314-333-6667.|
