Results in a Hurry
EFA offers "rapid testing" to detect HIV. After twenty minutes you'll have your results. This test requires a single drop of blood from your finger and is 99.7% effective in detecting HIV. There's no such thing as a "false negative", so if a result shows up negative on this test, it's a guarantee you are HIV-free. If the rapid test indicates an individual is positive for HIV, a confirmatory test consisting of a simple blood draw will be used to determine if the rapid test results are accurate.
Our Certified Testing Staff
Currently, EFA has a staff of 6 qualified professionals who can test anyone for HIV. Many of these staff members are also trained phlebotomists, making syphilis testing available to our community. Additionally, clients who meet specific criteria are also eligible for gonorrhea and chlamydia testing. If interested, please ask for these additional tests when making your appointment.
Counseling & Questions
Our testing staff are very educated about HIV/AIDS and skilled at what they do. Our commitment is to provide everyone with the information they need to feel confident about their knowledge of HIV and provide answers to questions about HIV and other STD's. We can help you decide how to disclose your status to those with whom you have had sexual contact, and provide opportunities for you to get support from others who have learned to live with HIV.
