Care Support Team

To assist in the fulfillment of EFA’s mission, the Care Support Team provides direct support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.  The CST helps develop relationships between people living with HIV/AIDS and EFA volunteers.  These relationships allow individuals to provide unique care to those that need services not offered in the community.

What is a Care Support Team (CST)?

The Care Support Team is a volunteer program at Saint Louis Effort for AIDS.  The program matches a team of volunteers with a new Friend in the community who is living with HIV/AIDS and is in need of support.  Volunteers and Friends are matched according to the Friend’s needs and the work volunteers find fulfilling.

What are the Benefits of a Care Support Team?

For Volunteers:

  • Develop relationships with people in the community and know you are making a difference in someone's life

  • Engage in volunteer work you find fulfilling

  • Volunteer with the support of a team.  Volunteering in a team allows for flexibility in time commitments

  • Volunteers and Friends can decide together the frequency and duration of activities

For Friends:

  • Receive extra support from a team of volunteers

  • Develop new relationships with people in the community

What are the Responsibilities of Participants?

Coordinate and communicate with your Team and Friend

For Volunteers: Attend CST training and monthly group meetings

For Friends: Clearly identify needs and how your team can meet them
